Fishing Contest
Silver coins push your personal tiers. Gold coins from a new team record are what move the team rank.

- SpendRods
- A cast pays silver by species and weight. If that fish sets a team record, you also get gold.
- A multiplier raises both the cost and the silver.
- When rods are scarce, several low-multiplier casts early on beat one huge multiplier for setting records.
- When a teammate chum the water, cast together for those few minutes.
NoteIf everyone maxes the multiplier and nobody sets a record, the team rank does not move.
More detail
How it plays
Each cast spends a rod and pays silver by the fish’s species and weight. If that fish sets a team record, you also get gold. Silver fills personal tiers. The team’s gold is what gets ranked, and the event pays by rank at the end.
A cast can use a multiplier: cost and silver both scale with it. After enough silver, the rod can be upgraded, luck goes up, and rare or heavy fish show up more often. There is also a low-chance chum bait. For a short time it raises the whole team’s luck, and a few layers can stack.
On a budget
When rods are scarce, several low-multiplier casts early on are more likely to fill the catalog and the team records than one very high multiplier.
When a teammate gets bait, cast together during those few minutes of chum. That beats everyone fishing alone.
Rotation / team
Fishing Contest is a four-player rotating event. Records are per team, so when teammates are online changes the gold.
- The five limited events take turns.
- The day before, a team screen usually shows up. Bring friends or people who actually play.
- Island Gold Rush and the Zobo Horde do not use one of these five slots. You can play them alongside the day’s event.
What changed
Some Tatari advancements can spend rods in Fishing Contest, or the matching item in a race or raft event. You pick one of the two.
Watch outs
Rank looks at gold. Personal tiers look at silver. If everyone maxes the multiplier and nobody sets a record, the team rank does not move.
